VENENEROS

2026,

Research project on zoomorphic and phytomorphic designs of Mesoamerican objects. It aligns with the idea that ritual objects remain important for both their symbolic and functional value. These objects were used to mix psychotropic herbs or as containers for medicines. Pre-Hispanic vessels were shaped like cacao pods and possibly represented deities, paying homage to the symbiosis with nature. The great cultures of Mesoamerica produced extraordinary designs that evoke a culture that felt profound respect for the entities of life, including death, an indispensable condition for life itself. These pieces, inspired by pre-Hispanic forms, invite us to explore forms of identity so necessary for contemporary life, often disconnected from essential elements such as water, fire, and air.

Veneneros suggest healing through alternative natural and spiritual means that could coexist with modern applied sciences, prompting the reflection that science should be at the service of nature, and not the other way around.
